Owning Sterling Monument Company of Houston since 2021 has been an honor as we continue to build on this store’s history of excellence and service to the community. I was an elementary school PE coach and taught at Lone Star College before taking over Sterling Monument Company of Houston. While I loved what I did, we decided it was perfect for my family and myself. I’m in a position where I can have a positive impact on people’s lives, especially families who have lost a loved one, and that means everything to me. But perhaps it was serendipity…my middle name is Sterling; I’m named after my granddad whose name was Sterling, so it was only natural that I would name my daughter Sterling and have the good fortune to serve my community as Sterling Monument. Some things are just meant to be!

“Working at Sterling Monument-Houston is very rewarding! Our location is only 15 minutes from my home, right in my own community, so I consider our customers my neighbors. I love knowing that I am doing my best to help them navigate through what could be a difficult process. We are about honor and integrity when people need us the most, and I love that!”

"I snuck into the office one day during the holidays, in hopes of shelter and food. Then, as luck may have it, this nice lady started putting out food for me! Then the man said I could stay and watch out for critters and look after the monuments and the rest is history!
You can find me lounging in one of the chairs or walking around the yard taking care of the monuments!"
